Sourcing

At Giving Grounds, all of the coffees we source are either Rainforest Alliance Certified or Relationship Model Direct Trade. We are committed to Rainforest Alliance Certified and Relationship Model Direct Trade sourcing because these models ensure that our coffees are sourced with integrity and with respect to the social, economic and environmental sustainability of each origin farm. 

Relationship Model Direct Trade coffee is sourced from small-holder farmers with whom we've established a relationship. This relationship ensures that the farmers receive a fair price and fosters partnership transparency throughout the entire supply chain process.

Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee comes from farms that meet strict criteria and are audited regularly to ensure that the farm is operating by the principles of sustainable farming. These principles include biodiversity conservation, improved livelihoods and human well-being (ensuring fair prices), natural resource conservation, and effective planning and farm management systems.

In addition to ethical sourcing standards, every bag of Giving Grounds Coffee funds approximately 50 sq. feet of land, crops, and training that will economically empower impoverished Ugandans and ultimately create thriving communities.
